My first question for anyone who knows it, is why was this medal given to Burleigh the civilian. I have asked a few medal experts but the picture is not too clear, I know he was mentioned in despatches, does that in itself  warrant a medal?

A photo of Bennet Burleigh with General Redvers Buller (Boer War). Does anyone have any photos of Burleigh in his youth, i.e. from the American Civil War? or does anyone have a copy of the letters written during the Civil War from the Robertson house in Guelph, Canada.

Picture of the staff of the Daily Telegraph, taken about six months before Bennet Burleigh died. Apparantly a bust or statue was going to be erected in Glasgow in his honour, any ideas on this

Is this Bennet Burleigh in the foreground with Churchill, December 15th 1910? Observing an armed battle with anarchists in the East End. He certainly knew him from their Boer War days.

Bennet Burleigh undertook a bit of after dinner speaking! does anyone know of other talks he might of done, such as the Boer War?

This is the last piece of the jigsaw I need for the completion of Bennet Burleighs biography, an advert printed in the strand magazine, I have bought volume 23 but it isnt in there, I presume in its day that The Strand was sold newspaper style, and it is this version that contains the ad, if anyone has a copy of this or anything else of interest please forward to the email below and I will post them along with your comments.
